I study urban ecology, bird migration, and the evolution of birds using phenotypic and genetic variation. My research interests include investigating how anthropogenic impacts like light pollution are affecting migratory birds along the Pacific Flyway, and how habitat and species compositions have changed due to natural disasters, such as wildfires and hurricanes.

Some of the projects I have worked on include divergence mechanisms in Red Warblers, geographic variation in Black-chinned Sparrows, a 100-year Mexican Bird Resurvey Project, and dawn flight migration at Bear Divide in Southern California.

I want to use my background in evolution and working with historical museum collections to investigate modern problems and changes in bird abundance, distribution, migration, phenology, and habitat.
